Thabo Bester expressed his “concern” for his former girlfriend, Nandipha Magudumana, ahead of the release of the Netflix documentary Beauty and the Bester, which explores their relationship and criminal spree.

At the same time, rumours are spreading that the celebrity skin doctor is pregnant while in police custody.

Nandipha faces charges of orchestrating Bester’s 2022 prison escape, defrauding the public, and violating multiple bodies.

Their trial will begin on 10 November at the Bloemfontein High Court.

THABO BESTER ‘CONCERNED’ FOR NANDIPHA MAGUDUMANA

Speaking through his legal advisor, Thabo Bester voiced his “concerns” for Nandipha Magudumana.

He and Magudumana filed an urgent High Court application to stop Netflix from broadcasting Beauty and the Bester, scheduled for release on Friday, 12 September. The former couple wants the documentary delayed until the court delivers a verdict in their trial, set to begin in November.

Bester specifically criticised the involvement of Nandipha’s father, Zolile Sekeleni, in the documentary, arguing that it could affect the outcome of his trial.

His attorney told eNCA: “He is frustrated with how he is being portrayed in this documentary…it is dehumanising him, they are equating Bester as a beast”.

The attorney revealed that Thabo Bester was “troubled” by how it would affect Nandipha.

“His spirits are down. He does not like being the subject of headlines.

“[Nandipha] is his primary concern, the thing that weighs heavily on him”.

PREGNANCY RUMOURS

Meanwhile, the Department of Correctional Services dismissed widespread rumours claiming that Nandipha Magudumana is pregnant. Several Facebook accounts had circulated unverified posts alleging that the mother of two was four months into her third pregnancy.

The post read: “He [the spokesperson] added that a senior officer at the correctional centre where Nandipha Magudumana held has been placed on special leave with immediate effect”.

The post added that Thabo Bester was “breathing heavy fire after hearing the news.”

“He is planning to sue the Department of Correctional Services”, the post added.

On X, the official account of DCS rubbished the claim as “fake news.”
