Thabo Bester documentary: Showmax receives legal demand from his lawyers

Facebook rapist and murder Thabo Bester are demanding a copy of the docu-series based on his prison escape.

Facebook rapist and murder Thabo Bester are demanding a copy of the docu-series based on his prison escape.

Bester’s lover Nandipha Magudumana’s team also made a similar demand threatening legal action if Showmax does not comply.

Streaming services Showmax was served with another letter of demand by Bester’s lawyers demanding a copy of the docu-series.

According to Eyewitness News Magudumana’s legal representatives made the same the same demands arguing that she did not give MultiChoice permission to produce or broadcast the documentary.

The documentary is scheduled to air on 15 and 22 March.

Both Bester and Magudumana gave the Showmax team until Saturday threatening to lay charges against the team.

Bester’s legal representative team have vowed should they not hear from the Showmax team they will be taking the matter to court to protect Bester’s rights.

Bester’s representative argued according to Eyewitness News that he was not interviewed by anyone from Showmax and do not know who is going to benefit from this documentary.

Showmax has confirmed that they received Magudumana’s letter and did not indicate whether they will be handing over the docu- series.

BESTER AND MAGUDUMANA’S RELATIONSHIP

After Bester faked his death and effectively escaping the Mangaung Correctional Centre, Bester lived a high life with his celebrity girlfriend Magudumana.

The pair shared a R12 million Hyde Park property, which they rented for over R40 000 per month.

Magudumana was married with two young children, who deserted her kids and eloped with her lover Bester and illegally crossing borders to escape.

Bester escaped from jail in 2022 in an operation that was aided by Magudumana his lover.

The lovers were both arrested in Tanzania in 2023 after eloping. The lovebirds were handcuffed and made their first appearance at the Bloemfontein Magistrate court.
