Although the US ranks third on the all-time list, it has become the top destination for South African immigrants between 2020 and 2024. Since the onset of COVID-19, the US has attracted the highest number of South Africans, receiving 31 000 out of 107 000 migrants. New Zealand follows with about 19 000, while Australia, the UK, and the Netherlands each welcomed around 10,000 South Africans during the same period.
