Power utility Eskom confirmed in a X post on Friday that Stage 3 load shedding would be implemented at 16:00 today until 05:00 on Saturday.

Thereafter, load shedding will be suspended from 05:00 on Saturday until 16:00, followed by Stage 1 load shedding until 05:00 on Sunday.

The load shedding pattern implemented on Saturday will be repeated on Sunday.

The good news came as a result of the anticipated lower weekend demand.

Eskom pleaded with the public to switch off non-essential appliances to reduce the demand, especially between 17:00 and 21:00.

We will keep the public abreast of the latest developments when changes occur.
