A group of more than 60 frustrated protesters got NAKED while camping outside the Department of Health in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

THE FRUSTRATED PROTESTOR BARE IT ALL ON TUESDAY

Videos of the women getting undressed went viral on social media.

According to the South African Cleaners Security and Allied Workers Union (Sacsaawu) secretary general Andries Potsane, these protestors are all private security officers.

HERE ARE THE VIDEOS

THEY ARE STILL CAMPING OUTSIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HEAD OFFICE

“Private Security Officers from all Hospital and Clinics around Gauteng Province are still camped outside the Department of Health Head Office as of Wednesday last week, and they are still here this morning until their demands are met.”

Potsane said these officers were left jobless, and their contract of employment was terminated without reason after working for Security Service Providers since 2024.

THE GROUP HAS BEEN CAMPING SINCE LAST WEEK

He said, to their surprise, the women decided to undress themselves on Tuesday.

“They will remain naked for the Department of Health to respond to their demands.”

THEIR CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT WAS TERMINATED WITHOUT REASON

He added that these officers were not registered with the Provident Fund, UIF, or Medical Aid.

“Officers were underpaid by service providers contracted to the Department of Health since 2019.”

Potsane said these officers are not being paid according to PSIRA Rate.

POTSANE SAID THE OFFICERS ARE NOT BEING PAID ACCORDING TO PSIRA RATE

They also do not get bonuses, leave, family responsibilities, paid public holidays, or Sunday allowances.

“A Memorandum of Demands was submitted to the Office of MEC on 22 March 2024, but the office refused to respond to members’ demands.

“Grievance letters were sent to the Department of Health for None Compliance of Service Providers.”- Potsane said.

THEY DEMANDED TO BE ABSORBED BY NEW SERVICE PROVIDERS

He furthermore added that after new service providers took over on 1 April, members demanded to be absorbed by new service providers, but their cry fell on deaf ears.

Last year in March, a National Shutdown was planned in South Africa.
