GOOD NEWS: All free National Parks Week venues CONFIRMED

All FREE National Parks Week venues have been confirmed, including KRUGER. Click here to see where and when you can VISIT.

It’s good news. Last month SANParks announced that its free National Parks Week would run from 16 to 24 September 2023. Now, the organisation has confirmed ALL the dates and venues for FREE visits for South Africans across the country.

Including the Kruger National Park (KNP), here’s when and where you can gain free access to any national park. The only catch is you have to bring your South African ID document and you have to book ONLINE before you visit to avoid being turned away.

Free National Parks Week is an annual showcase for National Tourism and Heritage month. It also provides cash-strapped South Africans with the opportunity to explore a local park they might not normally have visited.

Although 18 national parks will be open on select dates for South African day visitors to visit for free, note that all usual parks rules apply. These includes no alcohol or speeding in the parks, and free access does not include accommodation and other tourist activities.
