Are we seeing double? Royal fans have noticed Princess Charlotte’s uncanny resemblance to her late grandmother Princess Diana. Do you see it?
All eyes might currently be on Princess Kate and Prince William following her cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, but there is another member of the royal couple’s family that recently caught the eyes of royal fans. And she is the spitting image of Princess Diana.

To help celebrate and promote his “childhood memoir,” Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer, recently shared a sweet photo from his childhood on Instagram. In the photo, a young Charles is seated on a swing with a smiling Princess Diana by his side while their mother, Frances, stands behind them. The picture was taken in 1967, the Sun reports.

“My mother, Diana, and I, in c. 1967. I would have been 3, and Diana 5 or 6. I love how happy each of us looks. At this stage of my life, my mother nicknamed me “Buzz” – because she saw me as having the endless energy of a rather happy – and busy – bee,” the Earl captioned the image taken at the family’s Althorp estate in West Northamptonshire.
SEEING DOUBLE
Royal fans loved the aristocratic throwback but were quick to notice something else: a young Princess Diana’s uncanny resemblance to her granddaughter, Princess Charlotte.
“You can really see Princess Charlotte in Diana in this photo!!” one fan commented.
“Diana looks just like Charlotte. Great memory!” another added
Another wrote: “Princess Charlotte is the spitting image of Lady Diana. The memory of your wonderful sister lives on.”
But it’s not the first time royal fans have noted the resemblance.
In 2020, Prince William and Princess Wales shared a few family photographs on Instagram in celebration of the Prince of Wales’s birthday. The doting dad can be seen posing on a swing with his three children in the photos.
Royal fans were quick to notice Princess Charlotte’s smile and remarked on its resemblance to Princess Diana’s when she was a child.
As the only daughter of Prince William, Princess Charlotte will reportedly one day inherit her grandmother’s iconic Spencer tiara. The late Princess of Wales wore the tiara when she married Prince Charles in 1981.
