Bafana Bafana and Zambia hold the trump card over Ivory Coast with the Elephants looking to reach the last 16 of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Both Southern African teams are in action on Wednesday looking for a draw at least to guarantee their spot in the next round.

Bafana sits on three points and are more likely to reach the next round even if they lose to Tunisia. The only scenario that could eliminate Broos’ men from the tournament is if Bafana loses to Tunisia and Namibia beat or draw with Mali.

For Zambia, anything less than a win would bring their AFCON campaign to an end. They face tournament favourites Morocco on Wednesday.

AFCON hosts Ivory Coast could be eliminated from the competition if Bafana loses and Zambia wins or draws with Morocco.

For the West Africans to qualify, they need Bafana to beat or draw with Tunisia and again, Namibia to lose to Mali.

Zambia’s defeat against Morocco would see Ivory Coast qualify as one of the top four third-placed teams.
