Bethuel Muzeu dreams of playing for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs’ trophy drought has not stopped the club from being a dream destination for many Naturena hopefuls like Bethuel Muzeu.

Kaizer Chiefs may not be the force they were 10 years ago, but that hasn’t stopped making them attractive to Amakhosi hopefuls like Bethuel Muzeu.

While others choose money and a better chance of winning trophies elsewhere, Chiefs is still a dream for some.

It has been nine years since Chiefs last won silverware, with the 2019/20 season the last time they had their fans dreaming. During the Covid-19 interrupted season, they led the log for over a year, before Mamelodi Sundowns usurped them. This heartbreaking overtake took place on the very last day of the campaign with Amakhosi failing to beat Baroka FC.

The very next season Chiefs had their fans dreaming once again, reaching their very first CAF Champions League final. They would eventually lose that to Al Ahly and that was the last time the Naturena outfit played in the final of any competition. They have since failed to get it right in the transfer market, making a whole lot of hit and miss signings. That has affected their results going forward, as well as their pulling power. That does not seem to be the case for Namibian international Bethuel Muzeu

Speaking to iDiski Times Muzeu opened up on his dream of one day turning out for Chiefs. 

BETHUEL MUZEU DREAMS OF PLAYING FOR CHIEFS

“The dream is to play far, to make your name high. So every chance you get you must use it. So to be honest, my dream is to play for Kaizer Chiefs. So one day is one day I will make it. And I believe God will help me. I grew up watching Kaizer Chiefs, the likes of [Reneilwe] Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala, [Bernard] Parker, Pule Ekstein. I grew up watching those guys. hey made my football era growing up to be so wonderful. I grew up watching them and it’s my dream team and one day I’m going to play there.” Said Muzeu.

Muzeu has been lethal in front of goal for Black Leopards in the second tier this season, with 10 goals. Those numbers coupled with his performances for Namibia at Afcon, could see him fulfil his dream of playing Chiefs soon.
