After his outstanding AFCON achievements, Cape Town City has set their sights on Namibian international Aprocius Petrus.

A report from iDiski Times has linked the star man with a return to Africa.

The 24-year-old Petrus recently competed for Namibia at the African Cup of Nations, which took place in Ivory Coast.

He has made 13 appearances so far in the Albi Mall Superliga this season, contributing two assists and one goal. Petrus is on the books of Kosovo club KF Liria.

“This publication understands that Petrus already arrived in South Africa last week and started training with the side under the watchful eye of coach Eric Tinkler,” iDiski Times report.

The left-footed player, who helped the Brave Warriors advance to the Round of 16 for the first time in their history, can play as a defensive midfielder as well as a left-back.

In total, Petrus has made 24 appearances for Namibia, playing 90 minutes in each of them, including four in the 2023 AFCON.

Prins Tjiueza and Cape Town City recently reached an agreement in principle, but the move never happened since Tjiueza sustained an injury during the AFCON Round of 16 match against Angola.
