Cavin Johnson breaks his silence following Milford loss
Cavin Johnson has shared his thoughts after Kaizer chiefs were knocked out of the Nedbank cup by Milford FC on Saturday.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson reckons ‘his reputation is still intact’ after his side were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford FC.
Amakhosi suffered yet another shock exit after going down 5-4 on penalties on Sunday in what was dubbed a ‘David vs Goliath’ match.
Johnson, who has been appointed as Chiefs interim coach since October, has managed to turn the club’s fortunes somewhat but defeat to Milford may not win him favours from fans.
“As a coach now… do I have to take nine years on my shoulders? That’s a lot of years,” said the Chiefs coach.
“We have to do a proper inspection on what we have to do in order to make it a better season… to finish the season on a high so that we can show the people and the public that we are building.

“I’ve lost other games like this. I don’t think it will damage my reputation when you see the way the team played,” Johnson told the media.
The former Platinum Stars coach had been successful before joining Chiefs but admitted his team made tactical blunders against Milford on Sunday.
“I’d have said my reputation was going to be damaged if we didn’t attack and we didn’t attempt to score goals.
“If we made tactical and technical blunders maybe my reputation was going to be at stake but I think my reputation is still intact,” Johnson said.
Kaizer Chiefs next play struggling Moroka Swallows on Saturday.
