Just who will be Kaizer Chiefs‘ next coach? Soccer Laduma believes Raul Caneda is in the lead for the top job with the Soweto Giants.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO APPOINTMENT NEW COACH, RAUL CANEDA THE FAVOURITE?

Rumours say Amakhosi have created a shortlist of five coaches. Four of the names are currently serving contracts elsewhere. They include Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi.

According to the latest reports, the Spaniard Caneda has a better chance. The 55-year-old is a free agent after leaving Khor Fakkan SSC in the United Arab Emirates in September 2020.

NEXT MATCH FOR AMAKHOSI

In the meantime, interim Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson has a game to focus on. The Glamour Boys host Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium this evening at 19:30.

“Just over 72 hours after hosting Moroka Swallows in the Soweto Derby on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs will be in action again when they welcome Lamontville Golden Arrows to the FNB stadium for another DStv Premiership clash on Tuesday evening,” the club confirmed.

“Amakhosi and Swallows drew 0-0 at the weekend, while Arrows found themselves on the losing end for the ninth consecutive match – with the last defeat coming against Sekhukhune United on Wednesday, where they lost 1-0 at home.

“Abafana Bes’thende did, however, receive three points during that time in a walkover against Swallows who were unable to play their scheduled match in December.

“Chiefs and Arrows are separated by three points on the PSL log, with the 6th placed Amakhosi having amassed 26 points in the last 18 matches, and Arrows occupying the 10th position with 23 points collected in the previous 18 rounds.

“Tickets for the encounter between Chiefs and Arrows are on sale through TicketPro online at www.ticketpros.co.za or Spar and Boxer Supermarkets, PostNet, Shell and Sasol filling stations at R60 per ticket,” the club added.
