Dricus du Plessis made history as the first South African to conquer a UFC title. Now, the mixed martial artist is setting his sights on breaking new ground – and he says that he’d like to see the international competition hosted on the African continent.

Could we see an international UFC Africa soon?

Here’s what Dricus had to say during a podcast with Cameron Saaiman.

Dricus du Plessis said this during fellow fighter Cameron Saaiman‘s podcast while talking about his future plans.

The prize winner has already made UFC history once, by becoming the first South African with a title.

Why not make history again?

During the MSP show appearance, Dricus said he’d like to see the competition on national soil.

UFC AFRICA AND DRICUS DU PLESSIS: STILLKNOCKS IS BACK

The MSP show is Cameron Saaiman’s official podcast, with more than 70 episodes starring the fighter with his guests.

Saaiman is a fellow UFC fighter, called MSP by his friends and followers.

He has a total of six knockouts, remaining one of the country’s top fighting stars.

Dricus du Plessis was born in January 1994

He is a mixed martial artist, beginning with other sports like kickboxing before switching to MMA. Most South Africans will know him as the fighter who made history as the first South African to win a UFC title.

He maintains his fighting record, and he has fast become one of the country’s favourite sports stars.
