FIFA World Cup: Which countries had the highest ticket requests?
Today is the day fans across the world will know if their applications for the FIFA World Cup tickets are successful or partially successful.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is on the horizon with just less than 126 days before the official kick-off.
As previously reported, FIFA received over 500 million ticket requests across the world for the finals in the US, Mexico and Canada.
This despite the temporary pause of visa applications by the US government a few weeks ago.
Now, FIFA had publicly announced 5 February 2026 as the date which applicants will know if their ticket requests were approved.
Of course, there are strict rules such as the applicants may not be approved for all the match tickets requested.
WHICH COUNTRIES HAD THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF FIFA WORLD CUP TICKET REQUESTS?
According to ESPN, the three host countries Mexico, USA and Canada had the highest number of ticket requests for this upcoming global showpiece.
And while the exact numbers have not been published, the publication reports that the bigger share of the 500 million ticket requests went to those three countries.
Fans from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Colombia, Brazil and England also requested tickets in their numbers.

WHEN IS THE START OF THE FINALS?
This year’s FIFA World Cup tournament will get underway on Thursday, 11 June and the final is scheduled for 19 July.
Co-hosts Mexico will face Bafana Bafana in their opening match on 18 June in what will be a repeat of the 2010 edition in South Africa.
According to the same publication, this match is among the top five in terms of ticket requests from the fans.
