Hugo Broos will stay with Bafana – Danny Jordaan cofirms

SAFA President, Danny Jordaan has confirmed that Bafana Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos will stay on with the team.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos will stay as the boss and that is the word from Safa president – Danny Jordaan confirms.

Jordaan promises and confirms that the Belgian coach, Broos will stay on his job as Bafana boss amid speculation.

Media reports surfaced last week that Broos could retire as Bafana coach, some publications said the Belgian is wanted by the Algerian national team.

The speculation on Broos’ future comes after his Afcon exploits where he guided Bafana to an impressive third-place finish – Jordaan confirms his stay.

Speaking to the media at OR Tambo International Airport during the arrival of Bafana from the Afcon tournament, Jordaan confirms the boss, Broos’ journey continues.

While reports suggest that Broos is contemplating retirement, the ex-Cameroon coach promised to stay, he said he still loves his Bafana job.

“He (Broos) doesn’t run away from a fight, he was relentless in his belief that the team he built would win,” confirms SAFA president Jordaan about Bafana boss Broos.

“Our journey is going to continue, thank you for your efforts, there is still a road ahead of us.”

JORDAAN HEAPS PRAISE ON BAFANA SKIPPER’S DISPLAYS

The seasoned football boss and Safa boss, Jordaan also took time to praise Bafana skipper Ronwen Williams.

Williams is also part of the Caf XI together with Bafana teammate Teboho Mokoena.

On top of that, the Mamelodi Sundowns keeper is the first one to save four penalties in a shootout.

“He was included in the best Caf XI and made captain of that team,” adds Jordaan on the Bafana skipper.

“We must celebrate him, he has done something no goalkeeper in history has done.

“To stop four of the first five penalties in a penalty shootout.

“No one in the Ivory Coast could believe what he did.”

The 32-year-old Bafana star also produced two fine saves against DR Congo on Saturday night.
