Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye believes Orlando Pirates can do better without Evidence Makgopa.

The 23-year-old striker has played nine times for the Buccaneers this season but only managed to score a single goal.

Ahead of the Soweto Derby, Khanye has predicted Chiefs to beat Pirates but said if Makgopa starts Saturday’s match, the Sea Robbers would struggle for goals.

In recent games, Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has preferred Makgopa over Kermit Erasmus.

“That’s why he’s drawing and losing some games,” Junior Khanye said when asked about Makgopa.

“You keep fielding a player who does nothing for you, I mean he’s been playing in the DStv Premiership but he’s not a Pirates material. He’s so lazy, he and [Ranga]Chivaviro are more or less the same, they are lazy. Pirates should play Kermit[Erasmus] and [Zakhele]Lepasa…play Kermit so he can keep defenders busy,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.

Khanye said Cavin Johnson will get the best out of his players.
