Kaizer Chiefs will not offer a contract extension to one of their midfielders, according to reports.

Some changes are expected at the end of the season, which will affect players and coaching staff at Chiefs.

Chiefs find themselves languishing in sixth place in the DStv Premiership thus far, with the squad underperforming. The team has not fared much better in the cup competitions either. Under Molefi Ntseki, they were knocked out of both the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup. That prompted the Amakhosi management to relieve the former Bafana Bafana coach of his duties.

Chiefs then redeployed Cavin Johnson as their interim coach from his role overseeing the club’s academy. The club found themselves knocked out of the Nedbank Cup during his tenure.  Under both coaches, one senior that has hardly got a look in is midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe. Sithebe was a surprise selection in the second game of the season against Mamelodi Sundowns. That game proved to be the beginning of the end for him, as he had a torrid time on the pitch. He has since struggled to make the match-day squad, with injuries also contributing to that.

There were rumours of an exit for Sithebe last season, but a strong second half of the season saved him. This time around, however, it seems his career at Chiefs will end. It was also reported in January that, the club will not renew his contract when it expires in June. Now according to Soccer-LadumaGolden Arrows maybe interested in his services.

ARROWS TO OFFER SITHEBE WAY OUT OF KAIZER CHIEFS?

“Insiders have revealed that the player (Sithebe) has struggled with injury as well, which has made life difficult for him over the last few months. It’s believed Amakhosi are looking at letting him go at the end of the season and the Siya crew understands that Golden Arrows are considering a move to sign the 31year-old.” Wrote the publication.

With Sithebe not featuring so far this year, he is expected to be part of the Chiefs clear out.
