Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has hailed his brother and club Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.

Motaung played for Chiefs as a striker between 2003 and 2014 before retiring from professional football.

He was always earmarked for a non-playing role within his father’s club post retirement.

His brother Bobby Motaung, and sisters Jessica and Kemiso have always been part of the Chiefs first team in different roles.

Of course, it took years of learning the ropes before Kaizer Jr was given the position he is now occupying at Chiefs.

Now, Jessica, speaking to Mazola Molefe, admitted that it has not been an easy journey for Kaizer Jr but expressed her pride.

While Chiefs are not doing as well as the majority expects, Kaizer Jr is trying his best to ensure that the team is competitive again.

“I’m very impressed. It’s not easy to make that transition, and it’s taken time and it’s a process,” said Jessica.

“Moving from playing, taking some time to study, because he took some time out to study, interning within the organisation, and really now working full steam, it’s been a process.

“But to see him evolve, to see him grow… and to see him deal with some of the negativity that comes with taking on a role like that.

“And to see him mature… I love his energy and spirit and he’s handled it, and it’s still early days. It’s still going to be more challenging,” she added.

NEDBANK CUP TRIUMPH A SIGN KAIZER JR IS DOING HIS BEST

It was with Kaizer Jr at the helm as the club’s Sporting Director that Chiefs ended their 10-year trophy drought.

The Nedbank Cup triumph at the hands of Orlando Pirates in May was a statement of intent.

Furthermore, Kaizer Jr opened the cheque book to ensure that Chiefs get some of the best players available in the market.

All that’s left is for the Chiefs technical team and players to get things right on the pitch and deliver positive results.
