KAIZER CHIEFS’ PETERSEN BREAKS WILLIAMS PSL RECORD
Brandon Petersen’s latest cleansheet which came against Gallants, was his 11th in 15 league matches.
Now, according to OptaJabu, Petersen has broken a record of 11 cleansheets at halfway mark set by none other than Williams.
Ronwen Williams kept 11 cleansheets after 15 league games during the 2022-23 PSL season.
Williams was the first goalkeeper to achieve that after the likes of Williams Okpara, Wayne Roberts, Denis Onyango, Calvin Marlin, and Salim Magoola previously kept 10 at the halfway mark.
SIPHO CHAINE COULD JOIN THE CLUB
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine could also join the two – Williams and Petersen on 11 cleansheets at halfway mark.
As things stand, Chaine is on the 10 cleansheets from the 14 league games he has played for the Buccaneers.
He needs to avoid conceding when Pirates visit AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
