Kaizer Chiefs’ interim coach Cavin Johnson can’t come back from the Milford FC defeat, can he? Here’s the last statement from Kaizer Motaung Snr, the club’s chairman about the next coach.

KAIZER CHIEFS SUFFER NEDBANK CUP EMBARRASSMENT

As reported on Sunday, Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Milford FC are the latest Amakhosi slayers.

The Soweto giants suffered a 5-4 loss on penalties at FNB Stadium. The result meant Chiefs will mark 10 years without a trophy in May.

Losing against a team in position 12 in the lower division all but means that Johson will not be considered for the head coach role.

WHAT DID KAIZER MOTAUNG SNR SAY?

Meanwhile, let’s revisit what the chairman said about the next Chiefs coach.

According to Bra Kaizer’s words in December 2023, the club is searching for a new coach for next season.

“I cannot say at the moment how many CVs are on the table but process is taking place,” the chairman said via SportsLIVE with BBK

“We haven’t embarked on talking to anybody at the moment but we have put a process is in place for us to deal with new coach that we want to bring in because as you said, Mr Johnson is just an interim coach at the moment,” the Chiefs icon concluded.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi are preparing to face Moroka Swallows this weekend.
