Luke Littler wins World Grand Prix with victory over Luke Humphries
The teenage sensation adds another major title to his collection after defeating world number one in Leicester final.

He’s done it. My adopted sporting hero, the teenager from Warrington who turned this expat into an unlikely darts fanatic, has claimed another major title.
Luke Littler defeated Luke Humphries on Sunday evening to win the World Grand Prix at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena – and I couldn’t be prouder if he were my own son.
The victory was particularly sweet after Humphries beat him in the Premier League final earlier this year.
Littler proved once again that he thrives under the brightest lights, delivering when it matters most.
Mastering the double-start
The World Grand Prix is no ordinary tournament.
Its unique double-start format demands precision and patience, qualities Littler demonstrated throughout the week.
His route to the final included a stunning quarter-final comeback against Gerwyn Price, sealed with a remarkable 152 checkout, and a dominant 5-1 semi-final victory over Jonny Clayton.
Building an empire
This World Grand Prix triumph caps off an extraordinary year for Littler.
Already the youngest world champion in darts history, he’s now added the UK Open, World Matchplay, and World Grand Prix to his 2025 collection.
At just 18, he’s accumulated six major titles, putting him among the sport’s all-time greats.
With £120 000 (R2 880 000) prize money secured and his status as darts’ biggest draw confirmed, Littler shows no signs of slowing down.
The question now isn’t whether he’ll win more majors, but how many.
