Mamelodi Sundowns take on Petro Atletico de Luanda in the Africa Football League quarterfinals away from home this evening

Mamelodi Sundowns get their African Football League campaign underway this evening when they travel to the Estádio 11 de Novembro to face Petro Atletico de Luanda.

The mega-money tournament, involving eight of the top teams on the continent, sees the mighty Brazilians face off with the Angolan giants in a two-legged quarter-final clash.

The second leg takes place next weekend in Pretoria and Rhulani Mokwena will undoubtedly be hoping his side come away with a favourable result away from home.

The Brazilians were without seven first regulars during their shock midweek loss against TS Galaxy due to Bafana Bafana’s away match in the Ivory Coast.

Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena and Themba Zwane all traveled directly to Luanda from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

“I want to make a happy announcement, Ronwen became yesterday a father of a beautiful girl,” Bafana coach Hugo Broos said as quoted by IdiskiTimes regarding the Mamelodi Sundowns star.

“We congratulate him and his girlfriend. I saw a very happy papa this morning any breakfast, so we were all happy for him. She’s is really, really beautiful. I saw a photograph of her, he did really well, Ronwen.”
