Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has given an update on former striker Khama Billiat.

The 32-year-old abandoned contract talks with the Soweto giants towards the end of June and was never seen again by the club.

In a statement, Kaizer Chiefs said a new offer was made for Billiat to extend his contract, but the former Mamelodi Sundowns star failed to get back to the team. He has also not been training with the club or seen since 29 June.

BILLIAT STILL AVOIDING CHIEFS, NTSEKI CONFIRMS

This week, Ntseki provided an update, saying the Zimbabwean was receiving bad advice.

“It has been three weeks now since we last heard from him,” Ntseki told Sunday World as quoted by Goal.

“You know it’s bad when you get the wrong advice because he had agreed with the club and just needed to sign.

“He was not given the right advice and we are in the dark about where he is,” said the Chiefs coach.

Ntseki said he was unsure if Billiat would still be welcomed back into the team given he missed the important part of pre-season training.

“He has missed the match against Young Africans in Tanzania. How is he going to catch up with the rest of the players? It’s a difficult situation for everyone.

“Khama s a brilliant player but we do not know where he has been. We last saw him three weeks ago but such is football and life goes on. Every coach would love to work with him,” Ntseki added.

Billiat’s contract expired end of June, which makes him a free agent.

The star is not linked with any team yet but reports emerged that he might be on his way to United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia.
