Orlando Pirates star ruled out for rest of year! – Report
An Orlando Pirates star will reportedly only return to action for the Buccaneers next year after suffering an injury last month
Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has been missing in action since picking up an injury last month.
The Buccaneers first choice goalkeeper was on the receiving end of a heavy Therlo Moosa challenge in his side’s 2-0 victory over Cape Town Spurs on 20 October 2023.
His injury is reported to be much more serious than originally perceived and a comeback before the end of the year is now looking unlikely.
ORLANDO PIRATES STAR’S INJURY MORE SERIOUS THAN EXPECTED
“Sipho’s injury seems to be more serious than what everybody thought. We all thought it is a minor thing and he would be back after that Cape Town Spurs game.” an insider told Citizen.
“But now he will have to start over to get back into the team because his injury is going to take at least three months, and I only see him coming back next year. I feel sorry for him because he was a regular in the team and everyone trusted him.”
THE LEAGUE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TROPHY – JOSE
“The league is the most important competition, it goes without saying,” Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro said as quoted by TimesLive.
“Thirty games, 15 away and home against everyone in every circumstance, hot and raining. So, it’s the most important competition and we really want to find our rhythm there.”
