Pitso’s ‘come, get me’ message to Chiefs? ‘I don’t apply for jobs!’
Pitso Mosimane says teams like Kaizer Chiefs should approach him with the right project and not expect him to apply for jobs.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly mentor Pitso Mosimane says he no longer applies for coaching jobs.
Mosimane’s name has been bandied about whenever Kaizer Chiefs fans talk about the need for a coach at Naturena.
However, Chiefs have never, at any stage, approached Mosimane to possibly take over as their head coach.
This despite all the noise around Chiefs and his name dating over a year ago now.
Now, speaking on Radio2000, the 61-year-old mentor said he is at a stage of his career which requires he be head-hunted.
Mosimane said that’s not being egoistic but he feels teams that need his services should come to him.
Furthermore, Mosimane warned that he doesn’t just take up projects but they must be proper in order for him to consider working with clubs.
Mosimane further revealed that there’s a possibility of signing with a new club in the near future but he didn’t elaborate.
PITSO NO LONGER APPLIES FOR COACHING JOBS, SHOULD CHIEFS POUNCE?
“You must remember that at the point I am, I don’t apply for jobs and that’s not being egoistic. It’s about the plan and you must show me the plan,” said Mosimane as per Citizen.
“As I’m talking to you today, there’s a possibility that anytime from now I might have a club. Almost every second week, there’s a team that’s available and asks if we can work together.
“I mean, you can’t tell me that in Africa, there’s no team I can’t coach and even in the Gulf region I do have options, but it must be proper and challenging for me,” he added.
WHAT ABOUT POSSIBLE PSL RETURN?
“I can’t say I will never coach again at home. I will coach any team in the country that shows me why I need to come here and what you would bring to the table,” concluded Mosimane.
