According to one particular user, should the rain not stop the match might not be able to go ahead. Hussein Manack, a local cricket coach and expert analyst, explained that if the match cannot go ahead due to rain, South Africa would be declared the winner. He explained on X, “Could rain send #Proteas through? Aussies will finish 3rd. They can’t pass SA in 2nd spot now on NRR. There is rain forecast on both Thur and Fri (reserve day) in Kolkata. A no result means SA would advance to play in their first WC Final”
