Although there was no sign of a formal offer, there were some suggestions that Rassie Erasmus could apparently be open to the move, with a so-called clause in his contract even reportedly enabling him to leave earlier than 2025 when his current SA Rugby deal ends.

I’M NOT FOLLOWING JACQUES NIENABER TO IRELAND

But Rassie put an end to the rumours on Monday during a press conference in Paris when he categorically denied ever considering any kind of move to Ireland in the near future.

“No, no, no,” he said. “There have been no talks and there is no truth in that. I am not sure where it started but definitely not. I haven’t chatted to them and I am definitely not following Jacques [Nienaber].”
