The Springboks will only be back in action in July, which is still some five months away. But coach Rassie Erasmus and his management team will be all too happy that several key players are fully fit and available for selection for their respective URC teams.

All of Bongi Mbonambi (knee), Frans Malherbe (knee) and RG Snyman (chest and shoulder) have been absent since the World Cup final in October, with Mbonambi and Snyman also undergoing surgery.

But Sharks coach John Plumtree and his Stormers counterpart, John Dobson, have both confirmed earlier this week that front rowers Mbonambi and Malherbe have fully recovered and are available for selection this week.

Munster have also revealed that Snyman is back in training and in contention for selection as early as this weekend.

Additionally, Johnson said during a press conference that capped Springboks Salmaan Moerat and Evan Roos have finally shrugged off their long-term injury niggles and are likely to gain selection against the Sharks this week.

Apart from the players still nursing injuries from the Rugby World Cup, several other Springboks have sustained knocks while on club duty in the days and months since the big tournament.
