Stellenbosch lose Steve Barker to Tanzanian giants
Steve Barker has left Stellenbosch FC after eight years with the club to pursue his coaching career in Tanzania.
Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has officially joined Tanzanian giants Simba SC after months of speculation.
Barker had been linked with the move to Simba for months now, and despite all the denials, he has now moved on.
He leaves Stellies as the longest serving coach in the PSL having been with them for over eight years.
And while he was instrumental in making Stellies one of the most competitive sides, this season proved to be very difficult for him.
Barker’s team struggled to replicate the same form as the previous with Stellies now 14th on the log after 14 games.
They have collected just 12 points; a point above the relegation zone, with eight defeats already this season.
