Notably, three Springboks have been included in the Barbarians’ starting lineup: hooker Joseph Dweba, utility forward Jean-Luc du Preez – who will play at lock – and scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies.

All three just missed out on World Cup selection, but are among nine players placed on standby – five of whom travelled with the Springboks to Cardiff and London for their last two Rugby World Cup warm-up Tests against Wales (19 August) and New Zealand (25 August).
