TS Galaxy have been handed another transfer ban by FIFA after being reported by one of their former players.

The player in question is Jegbay Morris, who signed for the Rockets but never kicked a ball.

Morris is from Liberia, and upon signing for TS Galaxy, he could not get the South African work permit.

And according Tim Sukazi, Morris’ contract was conditional that it would be legal upon him receiving his work permit.

However, Morris was somehow impatient as the whole process took time and he left without notice.

Now, what happened was that he filed a complaint for unfair dismissal with FIFA as soon as he got to Liberia.

TS Galaxy had an opportunity to plead their case but the FIFA tribunal rejected their argument and handed them a transfer ban.

This means TS Galaxy cannot sign new players in the upcoming transfer window which could have serious consequences for their season.

TS GALAXY HANDED TRANSFER BAN

“The issue we have now with FIFA relates to a Liberian player whose work permit application was declined by the Department of Home Affairs which is a situation completely out of our control,” said Sukazi to SABC Sport.

“This player became impatient and left the country despite us having appealed the declination of his work permit with the Department. He got back to Liberia and the first thing he did was to lodge a case with FIFA.

“Despite having made his contract subject to the issuance of his work permit by the Department, FIFA insisted that the issuance of the work permit is the Club’s responsibility. This is not entirely true because it is the Government that approves or declines work permit applications,” added Sukazi.

THE PREVIOUS TRANSFER BAN

The previous transfer ban handed to TS Galaxy was in June 2024 when Ivorian player Bernard Yao Kouassi reported them to FIFA.

Kouassi claimed that TS Galaxy owed him R1.8 million in salaries, and he won that case but the club sorted it out.
