Who is David Teeger? Everything you need to know

David Teeger is a South African cricketer who plays age-group cricket representing the South Africa national Under-19 cricket team.

David Teeger is a South African cricketer who plays age-group cricket representing the South Africa national Under-19 cricket team.

He made his debut in competitive top flight cricket during the 2023 CSA One-Day Cup.

He was born on 11 January 2005.

David Teeger is Jewish and observes Shabbat and Kashrut. 

In 2023, he was head boy of King Edward VII School in Johannesburg.

He said that his leadership experience at the school allowed him to experience the “the diversity, the love, the brotherhood” that exists in South Africa. Something he said he experienced in the Jewish community as well.

He made his List A debut on 28 September 2023 playing for South Africa Emerging Players side against North Cape in the 2023 CSA One-Day Cup.

He scored 69 off 51 balls batting in the number three position.

DAVID TEEGER RELIEVED OF THE CAPTAINCY

He was captain of the South Africa national Under-19 cricket team during 2023. He led the team in a three-team tournament with India and Afghanistan in late December and early January, scoring 47 runs in four matches.

He was controversially relieved of the captaincy on 12 January 2024 by Cricket South Africa (CSA), but remains a member of the squad.
