Best places on the planet: Cape Town crowned second

Time Out has revealed their list of the 50 Best Cities for 2024 and stunning Cape Town has taken the number two spot.

CAPE TOWN SECURES SECOND SPOT

The beautiful city of Cape Town has just been ranked the second-best city to live in and visit in Time Out’s global ranking of the world’s best cities for 2024.

According to Time Out, their annual ranking of the most remarkable cities on earth is based on a survey of thousands of city-living locals around the world, tapping into what it’s like to live, work and play in their hometowns.

Grace Beard, Travel Editor for Time Out said that in collaboration with the research company Potentia Insight, they surveyed thousands of city-dwellers about the quality and affordability of food, culture and nightlife in their city.

“We also asked locals how their city makes them feel: are they happy there? Is it a beautiful place? Is it easy to make social connections? Their thousands of responses gave us a unique insight into the reality of living in the world’s greatest cities right now.” Beard said.

While Cape Town proudly featured at number two on the list, The Big Apple, New York City secured the number one spot. Rounding out the top three was the German capital of Berlin.
