Fans have been tweeting their support of international award-winning DJ Black Coffee after an ‘incident’ at the DSTV iRock Festival in Limpopo, South Africa, Saturday night… in which the Durban DJ and music producer was alleged to have “slapped” AKA’s manager. Watch video below.

Fellow South African musician AKA was meant to have also performed at the event in Polokwane, but apparently arrived two hours late.

His band then allegedly proceeded do a sound check during what was meant to be Black Coffee’s set. Coffee went to speak to AKA’s manager… and, as can be seen in the video below, ended up slapping the manager whose cap went flying.

One fan responded saying “Black Coffee seems like the most chilled celeb who doesn’t even like media attention. So you know AKA’s team really tried him.”

Black Coffee was on a schedule – performing five shows in one day – and tweeted “we work on time”.

Forty-year-old Black Coffee recently became the first South African music artist to win a Black Entertainment Television (BET) award.
