While there was devastation during Wednesday’s flash flood, there was also typical South African humour for those whose lives were not threatened.
Pie Badenhorst, from Marlands, Germiston, uploaded this footage of him and a mate, Lucas Coetzer, fishing during the floods.
Another video shows the two – one barefoot, the other in slops – running down the street looking for a better spot because there were “no bites in front of my house”.
On the serious side, Pie did upload video footage of the river of rain running down his road; and photos of his neighbour’s wall which was knocked down by the flash flood.
