Hawks Commended For Swift Arrest Of Armed Robbers. WATCH The Action

South Africa’s priority crime unit Hawks has been commended for its swift action yesterday in arresting six fleeing armed robbers on the East Rand. Watch videos below.

According to the Bedfordview News, the arrests took place after a robbery on Wednesday morning at Killoran Place in Bedfordview.

A high speed chase ensued (see below), and the six were seen tumbling out of their vehicle and huddling in fear as they waited to be arrested… which – from the comments made on social media – brought some relief to law-abiding South African citizens. Terence Naidoo said: “Such a pleasure watching this video and seeing these suspects scared like the people they prey upon. WELL DONE!!!”

The suspects’ vehicle was reportedly filled with jewellery, TV sets and other electrical goods they had stolen during the house robbery.

The Bedfordview News reported today that one of the six has led South African Police Services (SAPS) to a safe house in Kelvin where police seized five handguns, an R5 rife, three stolen vehicles and jewellery. It’s believed the suspects are part of a gang which has been preying on homes in wealthier areas.

Intelligence Bureau SA said one of the perpetrators had been shot. Writing on their page Mohammed Ganie was one of many to say: “These cops are highly trained in policing and combat… we need more cops like them on the road… well done.”
