The Free State province of South Africa has officially elected the new leadership.

The elections took place at the provincial conference on Saturday and ended in the early hours on Sunday.

This election could see Mashinini taking over as the Premier of the province after next year’s general elections if the party follows its principle of having one centre of power.

Trade unionist Sam Mashinini has been elected as the new ANC Free State chairperson, replacing Ace Magashule. (And this

William Bulwane was elected as the deputy chairperson. He is the former secretary in the province under Ace Magashule’s leadership.

Paseka Nompondo is the new secretary, replacing Thabo Manyoni… while Mamiki Qabathe retained her position as deputy secretary of the party.

Premier Sisi Ntombela was elected as the new treasurer.
