The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has apparently sorted out the squabbles within its party and have officially set the date for their elective conference.

The provincial task team released a statement saying the elective conference will be held next week from 19 to 21 July.

“The provincial task team has taken a decision to reconvene the aborted 8th ANC provincial conference in order to elect the provincial executive committee,” the team’s coordinator Sihle Zikalala said in a statement issued on Friday.

Zikalala said “the decision came after an internal discussion regarding challenges and solutions” that the party experienced last month… causing the conference to be interdicted.

“Work is proceeding to ensure that a suitable venue is secured for the 8th provincial conference scheduled from the 19th – 21st July 2018. The provincial task team calls on all cadres, members, leaders, activists, and supporters of the ANC to rally behind the call for a united African National Congress,” he said.

The Pietermaritzburg High Court had last month interdicted the conference following an urgent application by three members from different regions, which stated that the infighting and political killings in the province needed to be addressed before the conference could start.
