Award-winning South African flutist and composer Wouter Kellerman and singer songwriter Lady Zamar have collaborated to create a unique cover version of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s ‘Shallow’ from ‘A Star is Born’. Watch below.

Shallow received a Golden Globe earlier this week for Best original Song, as well as four Grammy Award nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year, Kellerman said on his YouTube page.

“Just released our new music video 😊 an acoustic cover of ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the film ‘A Star Is Born’ 😊,” Kellerman said on Facebook.

He revealed it was “recorded at home with the amazing Lady Zamar, and some great South African musicians 😊”

The flute wizard has proved to be one of South Africa’s foremost musicians since launching his debut album ‘Colour’ in 2008. In 2010 he performed at the FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony to a global television audience of 700-million people, and in 2015 Kellerman won a Grammy® Award for his collaborative album ‘Winds of Samsara’.

Lady Zamar (Yamikani Janet Mwafulirwa), who hails from Gauteng, celebrated having the most streamed South African song on Spotify last year – her song, ‘Collide’. She is also an academic, entrepreneur and talk show host.

The acoustic cover was mixed and mastered by Bill Hare in California, USA.
