English Version of Heartbreaking Message from Farmer’s Daughter in Namibia

An Afrikaans message on Facebook by a farmer’s daughter, Bella Bok Marais, has been going viral the last couple of days – shared by thousands of South Africans and Namibians.

For thos who don’t speak Afrikaans, here’s a rough English translation:

“If you call your dad… and you can hear such a big farmer’s heart is not good, it hurts your own heart so much. The kudu was lying near our house on the rock, so thin he couldn’t even get up. I ask everyone who sees these photos to please pray, pray for lots of rain for us in Namibia.

“I know it’s not just my dad who is feeling heavy because of the drought, but so many other farmers and so many animals.

“Dad needs to hang in there, I know and believe that Jesus will bless the farm with lots of  water.”

As jy jou pa bel….en jy kan hoor so groot boer se hart is nie lekker nie maak dit jou hart so seer. Die koedoe le bo by ons huis in die rotstyn hys so maer hy kan nie eers opstaan nie. Ek vra elkeen wat die fotos sien dat jul asb sql bid bid vir baie reen vir ons plaas in namibia ek weet dis nie net my pa wat swaar kry met droogte nie maar soveel ander boere en soveel diere. Pappa moet vasbyt ek weet en glo dat Jesus die plaas sal seen met baie genade water.
