PHOTOS: An African Safari Through 10 Countries. Part 1

Bruce Marais, a South African photographer, chef and creative who lives in Morocco, recently began a 10-country safari – through cities and along back roads and into game parks. SAPeople will carry a series of his brilliant photographs as he and his travel companions move from their starting point in Nairobi – a city, he says, where they spent about $60 per person a day, including accommodation – and head west into Uganda and then south, all the way back to South Africa.

Visitors to the city’s Giraffe Centre, what Bruce calls a must-see for anyone coming to Nairobi. The money generated by the centre goes towards the conservation of the species.
