It appears that another tornado has been sighted in KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. The region has been experiencing severe thunderstorms with strong winds, hail and heavy downpours; and a tornado was confirmed to have swept through the New Hanover district on Tuesday.
Showan Marescia – a resident of Bergville, who is a Protection Officer at Department of Water Affairs, according to her Facebook profile – posted the following photos and videos on Facebook on Thursday noon.
She said: “TORNADO!!! Jagersrust (Bergville) Few brief touch downs by the funnel @Approx 11:45.”

An hour before, Showan had posted another photo and video saying: “Tornado Currently forming in my backyard!!!!!”

Residents in the KZN are bracing for heavy rains. SAPeople contributor Carol Malley – who lives in Drummond – says: “We’re getting hammered at the moment in KZN; full alert throughout the Province.”
And for those who may have read rumours, no – there was no tornado in Durban (nor a dragon in the sky!).
