2 Runners Prove Not All Heroes Wear Capes But Time Is Running Out to Feed 10,000 Children

Musician Tactix SA is on a mission to make two athletic heroes in South Africa famous in the hope of helping them reach their target to help feed hungry children. The men – Kabelo Mabalane and Peteni Kuzwayo – ran 600 km (579km to be exact) from Joburg to Durban in 17 days to try raise R6-million to feed 10,000 children for a year. That’s R50 per child per month.

Despite their best efforts and running 759,824 steps, their Move the Nation / Hope With Every Step target has not yet been reached… and time is running out.

A post by Tactix SA has started going viral as Friday’s deadline for donations looms. Tactix said: “Please make @KabeloMabalane and @PeteniKuzwayo trend {again} 😭😭 these men ran from JHB to DBN (600KM) in 17 days in hopes to raise funds (6 Million) to alleviate child hunger 🥺 they raised about 3 Million and there’s no noise about this?? 😭😭❤ NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES 🥺🙏🏽 https://t.co/kToQ6Sgqm8”

Unfortunately for most, this was the first time hearing about the remarkable achievement and amazing gesture these two men made – stepping up – for thousands of hungry children. There’s not long left, but if you’d like to help – please donate here (as an individual or a company).

Kabelo, author of “I Ran For My Life” (proceeds of which also go towards feeding the children), used to be a drug addict… but swapped it for running, according to Hope With Every Step. Running has since fuelled his life’s purpose. He is now a formidable endurance athlete with 12 Comrades Ultra Marathon races, an enduring music career, a philanthropist, and a founder of a running speciality high performance, wellness & retail centre for runners. Kabelo believes that whatever the life question… “RUNNING IS THE ANSWER!”

Peteni used to be overweight… but has now conquered 8 Comrades ultra marathon races. Famously know as COACH, he is passionate about running, says Hope with every Step. From having coached thousands of people and witnessed their life transformation, Peteni believes that running or any movement for that matter is… “the best health defense and life lessons coach”.

Peteni posted photos to Instagram saying: “The most fulfilling 17 days of my life. Captured in less than 10 pics.”

P.S. Here’s a shout out to Climent Maluleke who walked 410km from the University of Pretoria to a community centre in Limpopo in 7 days to raise awareness and funds to get pads for underprivileged school girls. Thank you!!!
