The Proteas beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets at Newlands on Tuesday to qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals on Friday… and all South Africans who can, are encouraged to fill the stadium and support our wonderful home team!

Bangladesh were restricted to 113-6, before Laura Wolvaardt (66* off 56 balls) and Tazmin Brits (50* off 51) secured victory for the Proteas with 13 balls to spare.

South Africa will face England in Cape Town on Friday, with Australia taking on India in the first semi-final on Thursday.

Team SA says it’s time to “rally the troops and hit the stadiums”. This is the first time SA has played host to the Women’s T20 World Cup, and it’s proving a fantastic way to enjoy the last blast of summer.

South Africa is playing host to the Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time ever, and what better way to enjoy the last bit of summer than getting behind the Proteas by watching cricket in its most explosive format, says TeamSA.

Newlands is one of South Africa’s most picturesque stadiums.

In addition to watching the world’s top teams battle it out, fans are also being treated to performances from top local artists.
