Cape Town Met: Prediction for Hollywoodbets Kenilworth race

Twelve runners will take to the gates for the 162nd renewal of the R2 million World Sports Betting Cape Town Met at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday, 27 January.

Cape Town-based trainer Justin Snaith boasts five of the 12-strong field, with Ricky Maingard the only other trainer with multiple entrants.

South Africa’s only female jockey, Rachel Venniker, will ride in her first Met aboard Without Question, while English-based rider Danny Muscutt flies in to ride stablemate Double Superlative, both for Justin Snaith.

A look at the latest Hollywoodbets betting shows the current favourite is See It Again at 46/100, followed by Pacaya at 8/1.

Mucho Dinero at 10/1 and Royal Aussie (25/2) follow next.

The winner of the Grade 1 race over 2 000m will pocket R1 187 500, with second place worth R380 000.

Third to fifth will pay R190 000, R95 000 and R47 500, respectively.

The race is the ninth of 11 on the day, and the gates are due to fly open at 16:45.
