DSTV annual price hike CONFIRMED
Consumers brace for a heavy blow as MultiChoice announces DStv price hikes for 2024 with prices set to increase between 3.1-7.8%.
Multichoice’s annual DSTV price increases have been confirmed and it’s set to be heavy on the wallet. Here’s what you’ll pay this year.
Prices will increase by between 3.1% and 7.8% across DStv’s satellite pay-TV portfolio, while all of DStv’s streaming-only packages will remain unchanged.

Across the pay-TV’s six package deals, DStv Access has the biggest price increase, but that’s because it will feature a sports offering which will include ESPN, La Liga, SuperSport Variety 4, and SuperSport Blitz.
DStv Compact Plus will also see a substantial increase of 6.9% and Multichoice CEO Marc Jury explained that subscribers of this particular package will get a revamped set of channels that includes the best of Showmax’s original content.

DSTV INCREASES IN ORDER OF HIGHEST TO LOWEST:
- Access: 7.8% increase, from R129 to R139
- Compact Plus: 6.9% increase, from R579 to R619
- Premium: 5.7% increase, from R879 to R929
- Compact: 4.5% increase, from R449 to R469
- Family: 3.1% increase, from R319 to R329
- EasyView: no increase, remains at R29

Additionally, Jury confirmed that they are focusing more on their fix-priced contract packages at the moment, by offering 24-month contract deals to willing subscribers.
Customers opting for the no-increase contracts, can upgrade their package at any point during the two years, but they won’t be able to downgrade without cancelling and paying the associated fees.

- Premium — R879 / 24 months
- Compact — R399 / 24 months
- Access — R109 / 24 months
