The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a daily ranking of the richest people in the world.
France’s founder, chairperson and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Bernard Arnault, leads the way ahead of American Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
South Africa-born 52-year-old Elon Musk rounds out the top three.
The rest of the top 10, in order, are Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, Larry Ellison, Larry Page, Warren Buffet and Sergey Brin.
Musk was once the clear leader in the battle for the honour of world’s richest person.
However, in 2024 alone he’s lost a staggering $42.4 billion – the only person in the Top 10 to have seen their fortune decline in the nearly three months of the year.
Zuckerberg is closing in fast on the Top 3 having added $50.4 billion to his bet worth in 2024 – the most of anyone in the Top 10.
According to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk is ‘only’ $9 billion ahead of Zuckerberg.
