GTA VI: gamers go wild as new trailer finally releases

It’s an exciting time for fans of the Grand Theft Auto video game series after the trailer for GTA VI was released to the world.

After over ten years, GTA VI is closer to releasing than ever. The hit franchise title from Rockstar Games has been in development for over a decade and on Tuesday the 5th of December, gamers caught their first official glimpse when the trailer was released. It’s safe to argue that this was the biggest gaming moment of the past year and the new trailer has already gone viral globally. While details about the game’s release date are still murky, fans will be encouraged by the visuals.

FIRST WATCH: GTA VI TRAILER

The countdown to this trailer has been agonising for GTA VI fans. The sixth title of the popular franchise has been long-rumoured but for a while, fans had begun to give up hope. When the trailer was first announced back in November, one fan wrote on Reddit “Oh wow, it’s really happening? I had given up on us ever getting another GTA game, it feels good that now we can go from speculating about it to actually looking forward to it!”

After a leak threatened to ruin the party, Rockstar Games decided that now was finally the time for fans to get their first look at the new trailer. If you’re a gamer, you’ll be excited to check out GTA VI’s first teaser below:

WHEN DOES IT RELEASE?

So far, all we know is that GTA VI will be available on consoles and gaming platforms from 2025, although an exact date is not known. When it comes to storylines, we’ve already learned a lot from the trailer, including that this edition will have a female protagonist.

From what we can also see from the trailer, GTA VI will take place in Miami, just like GTA Vice City which was released almost 20 years ago.
