Emtee files for divorce: ‘I don’t want no problems’

Rapper Emtee has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife, Nicole Chinsamy, who withdrew the assault charges against him last week.

According to TshisaLIVE, the Manando hitmaker filed for divorce in April – the same month he was attending his assault case which his wife later withdraw.

EMTEE FILES FOR DIVORCE

A source revealed that Emtee has moved out of the home he shared with Nicole, and was staying with a friend in Fourways.

However, when asked about the claims, Emtee did not share much.

“I haven’t moved out completely yet. It is what is. I don’t want no problems,” the rapper said.

In March, the father-of-two revealed to Zimoja that he is leaving his marriage and he is moving out of their home.

“I have not been home much to try and avoid conflict. She has been the one that has been abusive toward me for years. She hits me and then plays the victim,” the publication quoted him as saying.

Emtee further said that he does not want to end up in the same situation as the late rapper Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi who was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, in 2015.

“I have not been home much to try and avoid conflict. She has been the one that has been abusive toward me for years. She hits me and then plays the victim,” the publication quoted him as saying.

Emtee further said that he does not want to end up in the same situation as the late rapper Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi who was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, in 2015.

“I am in the process of moving out. I realised we shouldn’t be together. She can stay in the house for the sake of the kids, but I can’t do this anymore. Things can become really bad and I don’t want this to be another Flabba situation. One mistake and something wrong might happen.”

NICOLE WITHDRAWS ASSAULT CHARGES

According to Sunday World, the award-winning rapper appeared at the Midrand Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 2 May, where he was immediatly told to go home as his wife had withdrawn the assault charges against him, saying she forgives him.

In a statement by Nicole, she said that she forgives the musician for the sake of their two children, Avery and Logan, as well as their unborn baby.

On 3 March, Emtee went live on Instagram. In the video, the Roll Up hitmaker was heard having an argument with his mother-in-law who said she was in his house to protect her daughter from him.

Shortly after, Nicole showed fans a picture of her bruised and swollen eye due to the alleged assault incident.

“This is what he did to me,” she says. “Show them what you did to me, how you beat me up on Valentine’s Day here’s the proof,” she told Emtee.

“Here’s the proof. Beat me up while I’m seven months pregnant,” she added.
