JOBURG MAYOR ACCUSED OF BEING A SCAMMER BY RIVAL PARTY, LABELED ‘SORE LOSER’

According to reports, Phalatse accused Gwamanda of being a scammer and gave him 48 hours to admit to the claims that he was involved in a Ponzi scheme with many victims. The allegations were made in a statement on Friday night.

Al Jama-ah leader Ganief Hendricks dismissed the claims as Phalatse’s reaction to losing out of the mayoral chain and said Gwamanda was “overwhelmingly elected” by the minority bloc in the Johannesburg metro council.

AL JAMA-AH DISMISSES DA’S ACCUSATIONS AS A “PLAN B” TO PLUNGE THE CITY INTO CHAOS

“Since DA’s Plan A dismally failed, they – as sore losers – hacked other plans; they opted for Plan B with the sly intentions of not only ousting him but plunging the city once again into chaos and disarray. They do this with partners such as ActionSA to worm their way back in to supposedly ‘rescue’ the city that they partially ruined!” said Hendricks.

The party leader said Joburg’s new mayor insisted on being vetted amid the allegations after it became clear, he was the ANC-EFF coalition’s preferred candidate.

“I was assured that the vetting was done and that Gwamanda has a clean record. We did the necessary checks to prevent any embarrassment as what happened to the mayor in Tshwane,” said Hendricks.

Gwamanda is the second Al Jama-ah mayor of Johannesburg. Thapelo Amad had a short stint in the hot seat in the city of gold before he resigned. The new mayor was elected on Friday.
